Janae Lopez

Registered Nurse with 550+ clinical hours and a strong foundation in medical-surgical and acute care. I bring a background in sociology, community organizing, and prehospital emergency care, with a strong focus on patient-centered care, communication, and advocacy. Based in San Diego and ready to begin my nursing career in the community where I grew up.

About me

I’m a second-generation San Diegan and newly licensed Registered Nurse, now based in San Diego and beginning my nursing career in the community where I grew up. My path to nursing has always been centered on people — understanding their experiences, advocating for their needs, and providing thoughtful, evidence-based care.

I earned my degree in Sociology from CSU Chico, graduating Magna Cum Laude in 2018, and later co-founded the San Juan Social Justice Collective, a grassroots organization focused on community education, racial equity, and connecting people with resources. That experience strengthened my commitment to service, advocacy, and meeting people where they are — values I now bring to patient care.

I recently earned my Associate of Science in Nursing from Skagit Valley College with a 3.9 GPA and completed 550+ hours of supervised clinical training, including an 88-hour acute-care preceptorship at Cascade Valley Hospital. My direct patient-care experience has been primarily in medical-surgical and acute-care settings, with additional clinical exposure to long-term care, geriatrics, OB, and pediatrics.

I have successfully completed the NCLEX-RN and am a licensed Registered Nurse in California. I’m excited to begin my nursing career in San Diego with a strong clinical foundation, a commitment to lifelong learning, and a genuine focus on the person behind the diagnosis.
